Current Disposal & Or lower-level utilization Criteria:
Tree and Debris Management Process
Immediate Threats: Marked with a red paint dot and addressed within 6 to 18 months, depending on urgency. Non-immediate threats are tracked through City Works, generating a work order for in-house crews unless the job is too large or numerous.
Chipping Capacity:
On-site capacity: 10-12 inches in diameter.
Larger debris is processed using the Prentiss loader.
Oversized material (18-36 inches) is sent to Crego Park for further processing, including chipping and log storage.
If necessary, an outside contractor with a tub grinder is used.
Chipping and Mulch Use:
Volume and cost data for the last five contracts are pending.
No stipulations exist for chip usage.
Minimal in-house use of chips at Crego Park—they are included in the tub grinding contract.
The community mulch program was discontinued—reason unknown.
Crego Park Details:
Two designated areas totaling 5.5 acres.
3 acres are used as overflow.
The site offers flexible space potential for future use.
